Surprise surprise! Chef Gordon Ramsay, who has been known for teasing vegans, confessed on TV that he actually "loves" plant-based food.
The British TV personality and the world-famous chef made his vegan confession on the US series of Masterchef: Back to Win.
It all happened during the show's first-ever vegan cooking challenge when Ramsay was explaining the rules to the contestants.
He said: "It's a secret that's so big, I'm almost afraid to say it on national television."
"After all these years, I can finally admit that I actually love vegan food," he added before saying that it has taken "20 years to get to this point."
In recent years, Ramsay showed some understanding of plant-based food. Some of his restaurants offer vegan dishes. For the first time, his London restaurant Street Pizza added vegan pizza to the menu in 2018, and he tweeted: "Going to give this vegan thing a try. Yes, guys, you heard that right."
One year later, while being a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Ramsay admitted that "veganism is on the rise," adding: "We've got to adapt, and we just have to eat a slice of humble pie."
He started posting cooking videos on Instagram and TikTok, where he taught his followers how he was cooking a vegan aubergine steak, and last year, he even joked that he was "turning vegan." One of his Michelin-starred fine dining restaurants, Pétrus, offers a Prestige Vegan Menu.
