TheVeganKind Partners With Plant-based Health Online To Launch A New Health Website
3 Nov 2022 by Agi Kaja

TheVeganKind has teamed up with Plant-based Health Online (PBHO) to create an ultimate online resource and guidance on plant-based health and nutrition.

The brand new TVK Health page will help customers to improve their wellbeing and live a healthy lifestyle.

Through the exclusive content, the customers will learn how following a healthy plant-based diet can reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, achieve a healthy weight, improve energy levels and digestion, take supplements and cook delicious plant-based meals for the whole family.

The new addition to TVK Supermarket platform will feature articles on healthy food, plant-based diet and nutrition, healthy recipes, healthy meat alternatives and whole food products, as well as inspiring stories about people who, through changing their eating habits, transformed their bodies and health.

PBHO is a team of experienced health professionals who help people understand the benefits of a plant-based diet. The organisation was founded by Dr Laura Freeman and Dr Shireen Kassam – certified lifestyle medicine doctors with extensive personal and professional experience in using lifestyle medicine to optimise health and wellbeing. PBHO experts' methods are backed by research and use the best available scientific evidence. Through the multidisciplinary approach, they offer access to doctors, dietitians, nutritionists, personal trainers and health coaches, helping patients transition to a more sustainable whole food plant-based diet and healthier lifestyle.

Dr Laura Freeman, Co-Founder of Plant-based Health Online, said: "We are very excited to be partnering with TVK. There is compelling evidence that a whole food plant based diet is one of the healthiest choices there is. The research shows that it can help prevent, treat and in some cases even reverse some of the most common chronic conditions we see as healthcare professionals - conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even certain cancers. So PBHO is pleased to be working with TVK to help raise awareness around the connection between our food choices, our individual health and the health of the planet. By encouraging people to adopt healthier choices we are putting preventative medicine first. With a focus on evidence-based dietary and lifestyle advice, we can promote improved physical and emotional health – whether people are plant-based eaters or simply plant curious. Not only will this boost wellbeing, it will also help us play our part in reducing chronic disease in the UK."

According to studies, the number one reason among consumers for switching to a plant-based diet is health benefits, following the environmental causes and animal welfare concerns.

TheVeganKind is the biggest vegan online shopping platform in the UK, offering more than 6.000 plant-based products. The company aims to make a plant-based lifestyle more accessible for all. Together with PBHO, TVK will regularly expand the Health section of its online shopping platform, helping customers buy better food options and adopt a plant-based lifestyle for good. TVK Supermarket also aims to increase the range of healthy foods such as fresh vegetables, legumes and fruits and whole food products.

Commenting on the launch, TVK CEO Scott McCulloch, said: "With a reported 45% of people going vegan for their health, it is important to us that as the number one resource for plant-based shopping, TVK is able to give our customers as much information and choice as possible."

"This collaboration with PBHO will ensure that TVK continues to evolve as a lifestyle platform - offering information and content relevant to the 3 core reasons for which people choose to go vegan/plant-based: Animal Welfare,Health, Environment (inclusive of the positive impact a vegan diet can have on climate change). We already have TVK News, TVK Recipes; and can now add to this, TVK Health, and soon TVK Planet. Our mission is and has always been “to make a vegan lifestyle easily accessible to all” and Dr Laura Freeman, Dr Shireen Kassam and their team are the perfect partners for us to continue evolving our platform and educating our customer base”.

World Health Organisation's first step to healthy eating is: "Eat a nutritious diet based on a variety of foods originating mainly from plants, rather than animals."
